How updates work

FictionalPlayer checks a small JSON feed for your package, then opens a download page in the browser.

1

Check in Settings

Go to Settings → About & updates → Check now. Your installed version is shown as major.minor.build.

2

Feed per package

The app fetches latest.json for your OS channel — Windows, Snap, AppImage, RPM, or .deb.

3

Download in the browser

If a newer version exists, tap Download. The app opens the browser; it never auto-installs.

Feed URL pattern: …/{channel}/latest.json

Update channels

Each package tracks its own feed so the right installer opens for your build.
